I’m Wendy Anderson — and before anything else, I’m a mom to a great kid, a neighbor who cares deeply about our community, and someone who believes in stepping up when it counts.
Like many of you, I’m concerned about where Volusia is headed. Growth without planning, nature being pushed aside, families struggling to afford to live where they work.
That’s why I’m running for County Council District 1. Not to play politics — but to fight for the kind of future we want for our kids.
My family has called Volusia County home for over two decades. I’ve taught hundreds of students, volunteered on local boards, and I currently serve on the Soil and Water Conservation District.
I'm not a career politician. My priorities are simple:
Volusia deserves leadership that listens, leads with integrity, and puts people before politics. Let’s build a stronger, more resilient Volusia — together.
Wendy Anderson
Candidate, Volusia County Council District 1
Wendy wants local government to work for the people—not special interests. That means prioritizing the needs of Volusia County families, first responders, infrastructure, and neighborhoods in every decision. From responsible budgeting to stronger public services, Wendy will fight to ensure our tax dollars are spent wisely and our communities come first—every time!
Agriculture is part of Volusia’s heritage, culture, and its future. Wendy will protect our working lands, support local farmers, and champion policies that keep agriculture economically viable for the next generation. By investing in sustainable practices, cutting red tape, and defending property rights, she’ll ensure Volusia remains a place where farming families can thrive.
Wendy knows Volusia’s growth should strengthen our economy without sacrificing our quality of life. She supports attracting good-paying jobs, expanding small business opportunities, and investing in workforce training—while protecting our natural resources and avoiding unchecked sprawl. By focusing on smart, sustainable growth—revitalizing existing communities, improving infrastructure, and keeping Volusia’s unique character intact—Wendy will help build a thriving economy that benefits everyone in Volusia County.
